The FireStorm project is an amateur rocket program to develop a solid-fueled, reliable, reuseable rocket which can then be used to launch larger and more expensive payloads. Instruments theese future paylaods may contain can be things like cameras, GPS chips, altimeters, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, and other data recorders. In the future, telemetry may even be possible, and it may be possible to control FireStorm in real time from the ground with servo controlled fins, however, the project is still in the research phase. To date, only 3 FireStorm rockets have been launched and only 2 achieved some kind of altitude. Another rocket, the Alpha-III-1 test contained the new solid fuel rocket motor that FS4 onwards will carry, and it was a success.
